Multi-client Data
A number of non-exclusive seismic surveys have been acquired and processed within the JDZ and surrounding areas, notably by PGS, WesternGeco and Veritas. A summary of the available data in the JDZ is provided below.
Structures highlighted by the 3D survey are characterised by toe-thrusts and anticlinal deformation in the south of the survey area with a less-deformed sedimentary sub-basin to the north, adjacent to the Akpo Field in Nigeria Block OPL 246. Numerous turbidite channel systems and DHIs are observed in the survey, and allow the relationships between structure and reservoir to be evaluated. |

Surface
Geochemical Exploration and Heat Flow Program TDI-
International, in association with Global Energy Co. Ltd. and the Joint
Development Authority, is currently undertaking the 2003 Nigeria São
Tomé & Príncipe JDZ Surface Geochemical Exploration
(SGE) and Heat Flow (HF) Program. Acquisition
of this program was undertaken in June 2003, and analytical work is
ongoing. Reports will be available in late July 2003. The
Tertiary delta continental margins of West Africa have been excellent
environments for SGE and HF studies providing important information
to constrain risk by delineating charge and oil types ahead of the drill
bit. The heat flow measurements provide critical information to help
constrain thermal maturity models in these deep water, frontier regions. The
program consists of the acquisition of approximately 75-80 cores and
15 heat flow sites selected by the Early Participants. |
